The Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU) was established by an Act of Parliament — the RGNAU Act, 2013 — at Fursatganj, Raebareli, Dist. Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. The university is envisaged as the premier institution of higher learning within the aviation milieu, aimed at providing cutting-edge research to enhance the aviation industry in India.
The Act empowers the university to award Diploma, Degree, and Postgraduate Degrees in civil aviation. Collaborations with leading international universities and institutions are being forged to offer global knowledge customised to local requirements.
RGNAU's objective is to facilitate and promote aviation studies, teaching, training, and research — working in conjunction with the industry to achieve excellence across all sub-sectors of aviation. The university also conducts Executive Development Programmes (EDPs) and Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for mid-level and senior aviation professionals, with globally-accepted certifications.
